Joye Group has a strong presence in the Australian timber flooring and tiling markets with year upon year of experience. Specialising in supply & installation of timber flooring and tiling services, we are a well-established, fast growing and highly respected company based in Sydney.

Project Manager

Role:

The role will be responsible for managing all aspects of project management for a range of projects, predominantly in residential and commercial sectors.

As Project Manager, you will work closely with company management and take responsibility for the delivery of your allocated projects incorporating all aspects of safety, program, commercial, and quality issues, whilst maintaining and developing stakeholder relationships. You will need a strong knowledge of building techniques with an ability to solve construction issues.

Responsibilities:

  • On-site commercial construction project management experience including contract administration
  • Excellent skills in all aspects of project management including pre and post contract negotiations at both Head Contract and Sub Contract levels
  • The ability to manage and meet the project financial targets including developing and maintain cash flow reports, cost reports, forecasting, invoice/progress claim management and budgets
  • Ability to work under strict timeframes and manage multiple tasks, priorities and projects
  • Ability to meet all WH&S and safety objectives and reporting
  • Ability to manage a team
  • Have excellent client liaison skills
  • Professionalism, respect and integrity towards your clients, suppliers, contractors, and staff with an ability to work and communicate with different personality types

Candidate:

  • Demonstrated working experience managing diverse construction projects, timber flooring & tiling experiences are preferred
  • Tertiary qualifications in construction project management or relevant, equivalent experience
  • Ability to manage both multiple and complex projects within a larger program of work, ensuring alignment with the overall program
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within project teams consisting of different skills and working styles
  • Possession of strong knowledge of project management disciplines and tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders

Project Estimator

Role:

We are a major company that is successful in winning medium to very large-scale work for a variety of Design & Construct Projects. This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to advance their career should they meet our requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, scopes, and specifications to create a quotation with inclusions/exclusions and cost saving options
  • Assessing the tender documents and deliver completed tender assessment accurately and on time ready for final approval by senior management
  • Ensuring accurate estimates are completed on time and in accordance with the required technical standard
  • Sending out tender inquiries, assessing quotes and follow up of quotes from suppliers
  • Negotiate and secure quotes from suppliers to ensure profitable tender submission
  • Preparing scope of works and work orders for subcontractors
  • Attend site inspections
  • Develop strategies for winning tenders
  • Maintain sub-contractor database

Candidate:

  • Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working for a flooring or fit-out contractor
  • Experience in Tiling and or Timber flooring, would be highly regarded
  • Able to demonstrate good negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to cross reference
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience in using software, for measuring drawings to create take-offs
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team, building strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders
  • If you can speak Mandarin and have a good understanding of English this would also be highly regarded.
